Musing Mondays is hosted by Jen at her blog, Books and a Beat.

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Are there any particular worlds in books in which you’d like to live?

I’m currently reading…

I know it’s hard to believe, but I have yet to read the entire Harry Potter series for the first time.  I’ve been slowly reading my way through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix while reading other books as well.  I only have a few hundred pages left in this book now so I’m going to focus on finishing it.

Not book related, but I’m also trying to finish watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix before the new episodes are released on Friday.  My daughter loves the show, as do I so far, and she really wants me to watch the new episodes with her. So, for this week Netflix is taking a lot of my reading time, but once in awhile I think that’s okay.   It will be some fun mommy/daughter down time after Thanksgiving here in the US on Thursday. As well as in between her cheer competition on Saturday and cheering for our hometown in our local division Superbowl game on Sunday.

I also just started listening to:

My Overdrive hold on this audiobook came in over the weekend.  It’s a fun little book to listen to as we head into the Christmas season.  I love Christmas and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. 🙂

Feel free to post your Musing Monday link.  I’d love to read what you’re musing about this Monday.

  1. Oooh I am jealous that you get to enjoy the HP books for the first time, I wish I could have that feeling again. Good luck finishing OoTP! It’s the longest of the bunch and it’s my least favourite (I love them all, I just love that one slightly less than the rest.) but it’s worthwhile and does a good job of setting things up for what’s to come in the last 2 books.

I’ve still never seen Gilmore Girls, people keep telling me that I should though.

    1. Yes, I’ve put OoTP aside a few times along the way, but I always pick it back up. Hopefully, this time I will finally finish it. I agree, it’s a great book, but it’s not my favorite one up to rhis point either.

I enjoyed your Musing Monday and I noticed that you talked about HP too. 🙂 I’m not sure about reading the screenplays or not. I’ll see when I finish the series. My son read The Cursed Child over the summer and he liked it. He’s not much of a reader, but he liked HP and Rick Riordian’s book when he was younger. Actually, my daughter likes Rick Riordian’s books as well, but she never got into HP. I know…shocking! 🙂

Gilmore Girls is a great show. I enjoy it a lot more then i thought I would. You should definitely check it out!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂 Yes, isn’t that cover so pretty and it’s Christmas, one of my favorite times of the year.

I checked out your Musing Monday too. I’ve read The Girl on the Train and I enjoyed it. Hope you do as well. 🙂

WHAT?!?!?! I didn’t know there were any Harry Potter virgins left lol

Ahhh Gilmore Girls is my favorite TV series of all times. I watched the first 2 episodes in the revival and I am dreading watching the next 2… I am dragging my feet because after these next 2 episodes, it is going to be over again ((insert ugly crying here)) I think it’s wonderful you watch them with your daughter. I cannot wait until my daughter is old enough to have GG binge watching dates 🙂

    1. Yes, hard to believe, but there are a few of us left. lol

I loved the GG series too. It’s definitely become my favorite TV series. I know what you mean about not wanting the GG revival to end. My daughter and I watched the first two revival epidodes so far. I’m just waiting for her to have the time to watch the last two. This past weekend was very busy. Saturday my daughter’s cheer squad won 1st place in a cheer comp! On Sunday, her team won the town Superbowl! It was a cheerleading filled weekend. 🙂 She’s had the same cheer couch for all 6 years of cheer and cheer has been a moment of distraction for my daughter through this tough month. Even when she wasn’t up to school earlier this month, she wanted to go to cheer. Her coach gave her a big hug after the game yesterday and told her what a great kid she is. ❤ Now, cheer is done so hopefully we'll have time for more GG soon.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! 🙂
